Thought I'd hack my way into the old mother blog and let you know the geezer's okay.
Just ask Julian, Liam, Bekka and Matt ; )

See You Later .....
Our time together has been transformational in so many ways. A few months was not nearly enough time to know enough of your vibrant lives, though much was revealed through your writing and riffing. Each triumphant and tragic story resonates deeply with me.
I am pleased and proud as you have risen to difficult, vital challenges; not the least of which was finding room in your hearts to allow a yarn-yammering science imposter to play the impossible role of a suitable substitute for a brilliant and deeply loved teacher of the language arts.
Though thrust together, we learned to trust together and to hold each other up. So, thank you for allowing me to do what I do in spite of my limitations -- for enduring my inadequacies and accepting me so warmly and gracefully. And now it's time for more change.
It seems most of you have already discerned what I have learned about Bill Dwyer : That he is the real deal -- packed chock-full of energy, soul and a deeply rooted passion for words and people. Just what the doctor ordered. You're in very good hands now.
It's been Good. Have a wonderful time this semester and I'll see you later....

Welcome!
Juneau-Douglas High School's creative writing classes provide students a wide range of exploration and expression in the language arts. New media, like this blog, creates new avenues and dimensions for student writers, while also allowing participation by peers, teachers and others via the web.
Instead of writing to the singular audience of a teacher, the students' audience includes all the students in the creative writing classes, and others who are interested. Feedback in the comment sections of each blog provides opportunities for affirmations, as well as helpful suggestions.
An important benefit of using the blog format for this class is its portability. You can work on your blog or read others any place you have internet access.
Be sure to check this blog periodically for updated assignments and extra credit opportunities.

Troubadour, Buddy Tabor - Tuesday During Advisory
Juneau's modern day troubadour, Buddy Tabor, will visit room 218 TUESDAY, December 6 during Enrichment.
He is a poet, song-writer, singer, and social critic of the highest order. He has produced 9 Cd's locally through Studio A.
Check out this recent Juneau Empire article about him.
If you are a poet, song writer or social justice advocate, this session is a must. It's a once in a life-time opportunity, if you know what I mean.

Review
Besides creating and writing in your own blogs, please also take time to review the work of your colleagues.
It's fun to explore each others blogs to see how they put their imagination, skills and understandings to use. We learn new information, perspectives and pick up great ideas by shopping around in the rich market place of each others minds.
Please formally review three of your favorite blogs from the student list. This task has a few steps:

- Leave a respectful and useful comment on each.
- Write a few sentences about each blog in your blog and create a link to each. Be sure to explain what you like about each blog, and most importantly, why.
- Title your post "Blog Reviews"
